Smartwatch Repairs General Information and Procedures for Repairs
A smartwatch is a wearable computer in the form of a watch; modern smartwatches provide a local touchscreen interface for daily use, while an associated smartphone app provides for management and telemetry (such as long-term biomonitoring).
While early models could perform basic tasks, such as calculations, digital time telling, translations, and game-playing, since 2010 smartwatches got more general functionality of smartphones, including mobile apps, a mobile operating system and WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity. Smartwatches function as portable media players, with FM radio and playback of digital audio and video files via a Bluetooth headset. Some models have mobile cellular functionality like making calls.
Apple Watch or iWatch is a line of smartwatches produced by Apple. It incorporates fitness tracking, health-oriented capabilities, and wireless telecommunication, and integrates with iOS and other Apple products and services.
After you book your iWatch or Smartwatch for a repair, we will ask you for any lock codes or passwords to access your watch. We ask this to test your smartwatch after the repair is completed. Our Technicians have a fiduciary responsibility towards the safety of your data, therefore technicians won’t access any application or files that are not required to test your iWatch or Smartwatch.
We understand the customers who are not comfortable giving our technicians lock code or password information for their watch. In those cases, the technician will wait until you come to collect your device before testing it properly.
Depending on the repair that’s being carried out on your smartwatch, we give 7 days, 14 days, 28 days or 3 months warranty. At the time of booking your smartwatch repair or collecting your repaired device, one of our representatives will inform you of the entitled warranty.
Most common iWatch and Smartwatch repairs that we carry out include:
Smartwatch and iWatch LCD Replacement
If your smartwatch has a cracked or smashed front screen, you will need a smartwatch LCD Replacement.
The same solution does, in most cases, fix the issue when your iWatch or Smartwatch touch is not responding.
iWatch and Smartwatch screen replacement is the most common smartwatch repair done within our store, so you can rest assured it will be done quickly and up to the highest standard.
iWatch and Smartwatch Battery Replacement
There are two main reasons why your smartwatch battery would need replacing.
The first one is that your watch battery is not holding charge. The battery dies out really quickly after you fully charge it. This means one thing you need your smartwatch battery replaced.
The second issue with the battery is when you plug in the charger to your iWatch or Smartwatch and the battery doesn’t charge. Here we either need to replace the battery, charger or repair your dock connector.
